Boerne Little League Heads to Williamsport for World Series
BOERNE, Texas — They’re off to Williamsport.
While much of Boerne was still asleep early Friday morning, the Boerne Little League team began its journey to Pennsylvania to represent the Southwest Region in the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series.
The players left Boerne in the early morning hours and headed to San Antonio International Airport, where they boarded their flight for what will be one of the biggest experiences of their young baseball careers.
The team received a special sendoff along the way, with the Boerne Police Department and Officer Dingman helping escort the players and coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to help the team safely make its way to the airport.
Once the players arrive in Pennsylvania, they’ll enter a whirlwind of activities surrounding the Little League Baseball World Series before taking the field against some of the best Little League teams from across the United States and around the world.
Boerne Representing Texas and the Southwest
Boerne Little League earned its trip to Williamsport as the Southwest Region champion, giving the Hill Country community another opportunity to cheer on its hometown players on an international stage.
Boerne joins a U.S. field featuring regional champions from across the country.
Among the teams that have already secured spots are West Side Little League from Hamilton, Ohio, representing the Great Lakes Region; Bridgewater Joe Lazaro Little League from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, representing New England; Soundview Little League from Tacoma, Washington, representing the Northwest; and Phenix City Youth Baseball Little League from Alabama, representing the Southeast.
Additional regional champions will complete the United States side of the tournament bracket.
Little League World Series Begins Aug. 19
The 2026 Little League Baseball World Series will take place from Aug. 19 through Aug. 30 at the Little League International Complex in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
For the Boerne players, the trip is about much more than the games themselves. Arriving in Williamsport gives the team an opportunity to experience the traditions and atmosphere surrounding one of the world’s most recognizable youth sporting events.
Family, friends and fans back home will also be able to follow the action. Little League International says more than 340 games will be carried across ESPN platforms during its summer tournaments, with availability depending on the game and viewers’ individual access.
For now, the bags are packed, the flight is underway and Boerne’s Little Leaguers are headed to Williamsport.
Go Boerne!
