BIG3 basketball heads to San Antonio this August

BIG3

BIG3 professional 3-on-3 basketball league that was founded by hip-hop musician, actor and entrepreneur Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz is heading to San Antonio for the first time. The league is headed into their third season and on August 18th, the BIG3 will compete three separate games inside the AT&T Center with tip-off at 2pm.

The game involves three team members from both former members of the NBA and international players with the same official rules as administered by FIBA. The game is played on half a regulation court. A unique concept to the BIG3 game is the four-point zone on a circle on the court 30 feet away from the basket. In order to score four, the player must have at least one foot on the circle. Instead of playing 45 minute games, each game is 10-minutes in length total with a halftime when one of the teams reach 30 points.

Did you know former San Antonio Spurs legend George “Ice Man” Gervin is the coach for the Ghost Ballers?

In San Antonio the match-up goes:

Ghost BallersTriplets

EnemiesKiller 3’s

AliensTri-State

The game will be broadcasted live on CBS and CBS Sports Network starting June 22nd.

Tickets will go on-sale June 14th for the San Antonio game.
