Big bank about to open up a coffee shop inside The Shops at La Cantera
National big bank Capital One is expanding their Capital One Café to the San Antonio area. Before this location, Austin was the nearest city to have a fancy café for their customers and non-customers to hang out. The bank will be taking over the old Microsoft spot inside The Shops at La Cantera at a projected cost of $3.9 million. The construction is to begin in November 2021 and should be finished to open by May 2022.
So the question is, what exactly is a Capital One Café?
Their website explains that it is a cozy spot to hang out, sip on some coffee, tea and sweets while you do some financial transactions and get help with their products from their ambassadors. There are no appointments necessary. It’s open to everyone, even if you don’t bank with them. You don’t even have to do any business with them, they’re cool if you just want to hang out and enjoy the free Wi-Fi.
Customers can unwind there from their daily hussle and bussle to sit down and enjoy a cup of Peet’s brand coffee and some local snacks. There’s plugs and outlets to connect laptops or recharge your phone.
So it is pretty much a bank and a coffee house all-in-one. Oh yeah, Capital One customers get 50% off their purchases when they use their Capital One card.
