Southtown well known drinking spot Bar America will be reopening their doors to customers on Friday at 5 p.m. They closed their doors like other bars and clubs due to the COVID-19 pandemic since June 25th.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission threw a lifeline to bar owners on July 30th to reclassify as a restaurant with a food and beverage certificate only if their alcohol sales are less than 51 percent of the overall sales.
The bar at 723 S. Alamo St. will be serving up drinks and food and visitors can take place of the patio views with a spectacular view of the city skyline.
This establishment is an icon to the Southtown era with 80 years in business.
Just to let you know that masks will be required for all patrons unless sitting down and either drinking or eating. There will be limited seating available.
