Abandoned Puppies Found in San Antonio Park in Need of Loving Homes

A heart-wrenching discovery was made on Friday, May 26th when a concerned citizen stumbled upon a crate containing six 5-month-old puppies at South Side Lions Park on the Southeast side of San Antonio. The distressing scene prompted a call to the San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS), who promptly responded to the 3-1-1 report.

Upon arrival at the park, ACS officer Guevara were joined by the Officer Perez of the San Antonio Police Department to investigate the abandoned puppies. The animals were found huddled together, seeking comfort, inside a small crate. Adding to the concerning conditions, an empty motor oil container was also discovered inside the crate, further highlighting the dire circumstances these innocent animals had endured.

ACS acted swiftly to remove the puppies from the cramped crate, providing them with the care and attention they urgently needed. In a heartwarming gesture, the ACS team named each of the six puppies after famous country artists, giving them a touch of individuality and hope. The names Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Willie Nelson, George Strait were bestowed upon these resilient pups.

However, ACS faced an unforeseen challenge. With their facilities already at full capacity, it became necessary to transfer the puppies to the Animal Defense League of Texas. Alongside the six puppies, the Animal Defense League is now caring for an additional 22 pets, making their resources stretched thin.

Now, the adorable puppies, full of energy and longing for affection, are desperately in need of loving forever homes. The Animal Defense League of Texas, located at 11300 Nacogdoches Rd., has opened its doors to the public, inviting potential adopters to visit and consider welcoming one of these beautiful puppies into their families.

Animal lovers and individuals interested in providing a nurturing environment for these abandoned puppies are encouraged to visit the Animal Defense League. By providing a loving home, adopters can ensure these puppies experience the care and affection they were denied before. Each of these pups has a unique personality, waiting to bring joy and companionship to their future families.

The Animal Defense League of Texas is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding suitable homes for animals in need. They depend on the support and generosity of the community to continue their lifesaving work. Donations and volunteer opportunities are available for those who wish to contribute to the cause.

Let’s come together as a community and ensure that Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Willie Nelson, George Strait, and their furry companions find the forever homes they deserve. Help us bring a happy ending to their tale of abandonment and make a positive difference in their lives.
