A downtown hotel recently underwent renovations has a new name

Introducing the Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa, Autograph Collection formerly known as the Otis Hotel or further back as we known it as the Marriott Plaza Hotel at 555 South Alamo Street.

This facility sits on 4.5 acres and is managed by Indiana based hotelier professionals, White Lodging who maintain major hotel properties around the U.S.

This luxury facility downtown San Antonio at the corner of Arciniega Street and South Alamo Street has brilliantly transformed itself into an oasis that features a resort-style pool, the poolside Anaqua Garden Bar & Grill.

Two of the historic 19th century buildings will be repurposed from a meeting and event space into a new day spa. The third historic building will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind bungalow suite. There are a total of 253 rooms in the facility that features different layouts. Another highlight of this place is the 42-foot-tall Anaqua tree. This tree was once listed in the American Forestry Associations’ National Register of Big Trees.

This hotel does have a pet policy in effect that they do welcome pets, they need to meet certain specifications of 30lbs max per room with a $100 non-refundable fee per room, per stay. No more than one pet can be allowed in a room. There is on-site parking at the cost of $55 per-stay.

The hotel is in walking distance to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, the Tower of the Americas, Hemisfair park, The Shops at La Villita, Southtown and many other attractions.

The hotel is set to open in the summer of 2023.
