AccessAbility Fest happening downtown Saturday

AccessAbility Fest is an event that is open to the public starting at 10a till 2p with live entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy also with food purchase options. It offers insight to those who face barriers to maximize their level of independence due to physical, developmental, sensor or mental health challenges.

The festival is in it’s 12-year will kick off after the abilitySTRONG parade that flows through closed streets of downtown on October 20, 2018. The festival at the Market Square will feature over 140 booths with information, products, and services to help disabled individuals with independence and invite those who are disabled to come participate in some activities.

The parade starts at 9am sharp rain or shine with the 2018 theme in celebration of the city of San Antonio’s tricentennial, culture and inclusion theme.

Mayor Ron Nirenberg and first lady Erika Prosper will be the Grand Marshall in this year’s parade. It’s absolutely free to watch the parade and cheer people on along the route consisting of 1.41 miles, starting at Cattleman’s Square traveling through Houston street with a right turn at St. Flores St. and another right turn on Nueva street returning back to Cattleman’s Square with a gathering at the Market Square in conclusion of the parade.
