SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 2025) — San Antonio’s favorite hidden gem is hidden no more. The 6th annual Chanclas y Cervezas event at The Greenline Park drew its largest crowd yet, with more than 5,000 attendees showing up to celebrate Fiesta on the Southside in grand style.

The scenic waterfront park, known for its art sculptures, expansive lawns, and lively playground, proved to be the perfect backdrop for a day filled with family-friendly fun, live music, and the unmistakable spirit of Fiesta. From the free face painting and hair coloring to the iconic chancla toss and alpaca photo ops, Chanclas y Cervezas delivered activities for guests of all ages. Families relaxed across the open green spaces while kids enjoyed the full playground and up-close animal encounters.

But the event wasn’t just for the little ones. Adults enjoyed a vibrant selection of Fiesta eats — from chicken on a stick to fresh sushi — alongside ice-cold cervezas courtesy of official beer sponsor Silver Eagle and a variety of refreshing cocktails. The food and drink vendors kept the energy high and the cravings satisfied throughout the evening.

The party reached new heights with a high-energy performance by Frankie J, former member of the Kumbia Kings. Frankie J lit up the stage with nostalgic hits like “Suga Suga” and “Obsession,” sparking a dance party that lasted well into the night.

“Our goal is to showcase the heart and soul of Brooks in a way that benefits the people who live, work, learn, play, and stay in the region,” said Leo Gomez, President and CEO of Brooks. “This year’s record-breaking crowd proves that people are embracing what we’re literally building at Brooks — a vibrant and transformative community.”

Beyond the entertainment, Chanclas y Cervezas carries a powerful mission. Every dollar raised benefits Brooks Gives Back, a nonprofit that has invested over $700,000 into local causes supporting youth, families, and seniors across the area.

With free parking, leashed pets welcome, activities for every age group, and a purpose that uplifts the community, Chanclas y Cervezas has firmly cemented itself as a must-visit Fiesta tradition — and San Antonio is more ready than ever for what’s next.
