🔥 Fire Safety Tips

The San Antonio Fire Department urges all parkgoers who plan to barbecue to follow fire safety guidelines:

  • Never leave grills unattended, and keep children and pets at a safe distance.

  • Use charcoal starter fluid responsibly, and never add fluid to an existing flame.

  • Avoid wearing loose clothing that can catch fire.

  • In case of grease fires, do not use water. Instead, turn off gas, close the lid if possible, and call 911.

  • Dispose of charcoal ashes safely by wrapping them in foil once completely cooled—never put ashes in recycling bins.
