SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 2, 2025) – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced the opening of a new permanent entrance ramp for eastbound traffic on Loop 1604 at Vance Jackson Road as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project.

The new eastbound entrance ramp will officially open to drivers on Friday, April 4, 2025, offering improved access for motorists entering the mainlanes of Loop 1604 from Vance Jackson Rd.

In addition to this new ramp, TxDOT has also scheduled the permanent closure of the Loop 1604 eastbound entrance ramp from Lockhill Selma Rd. beginning Monday, April 7, 2025. Commuters who currently use this ramp will be rerouted to the NW Military Highway entrance ramp to access the Loop 1604 eastbound mainlanes.

This change is part of TxDOT’s efforts to streamline traffic flow and enhance safety as progress continues on the multi-phase Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, which is aimed at relieving congestion and improving infrastructure along one of San Antonio’s busiest corridors.

⚠️ Drivers are reminded:
All scheduled openings and closures are weather permitting and subject to change. Motorists should stay alert for updated signage and changing traffic patterns in the area.
