SAN ANTONIO (March 27, 2025) — In observance of Cesar Chavez Day, City Hall and most municipal offices in San Antonio will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2025. The holiday honors the legacy of civil rights leader and labor activist Cesar Chavez, whose work continues to inspire community action and service.

Public safety and emergency services will remain fully operational throughout the day. Regular business hours for City departments will resume on Tuesday, April 1.

Here’s a breakdown of how city services will operate during the holiday:

Police Department: On duty
Fire and EMS: Fully operational

📞 General Services

3-1-1 Call Center: Open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and 5 – 11 p.m. for urgent animal concerns and traffic signal issues
Animal Care Officers: On duty
Code Enforcement: Available for inspections and emergency needs
Parking: Free on-street parking downtown (excludes City garages and lots)
Parks & Trails: Open
Fitness in the Park: Limited classes will be held

Curbside Garbage, Recycling, and Organics: Normal schedule all week
Brush & Bulky Collection: As scheduled on resident door hangers
Closed Drop-Off Sites:
- Bitters Brush site (1800 Wurzbach Pkwy)
- Bulky Waste Centers: Bitters, Frio City Rd., Rigsby, and Culebra
- Household Hazardous Waste drop-off center
