SAN ANTONIO, TX – Drivers on San Antonio’s Northside should prepare for significant lane closures and delays as the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project continues through April 7, 2025.

Construction will affect various segments from SH 16 (Bandera Rd.) to Judson Rd., involving intersections, mainlanes, ramps, and frontage roads.

Weeknight Closures

From Sunday, March 23 through Monday, April 7, expect nightly closures from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. These closures impact multiple intersections and lanes, including:

Intersections at Hausman Road, Kyle Seale Parkway, Babcock Road, Chase Hill Boulevard, and La Cantera Parkway/John Peace Boulevard
Intermittent closures for demolition and bridge construction.
Frontage roads and ramps along Loop 1604 near I-10 interchange
Lane closures for flyover bridge construction.
Mainlane closures between Bandera Rd. and I-10
For paving operations, concrete barrier installations, and bridge construction.

Only one intersection will be closed at a time, with no weekend impacts for these specific nightly closures.

Daytime Weekday Closures

Starting Monday, March 24 until April 7, weekday closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. include:

Alternating frontage road lane closures along Loop 1604 between Bandera Rd. and I-10 for sidewalk and bridge construction.
Turnaround closures at intersections such as Hausman Road, Babcock Road, Chase Hill Blvd, Kyle Seale Parkway, and La Cantera Parkway.

One lane will remain open in these daytime closures.

Weekend Closures

Significant closures this weekend include:

Loop 1604 eastbound frontage road from Bandera Rd. to Hausman Rd.
(Friday, March 21 at 9 p.m. to Saturday, March 22 at noon.)

Additional closures will occur at Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange, including multiple mainlanes and frontage roads from Friday night through Saturday morning. Law enforcement will guide traffic during these closures.

Long-Term Closures

Several long-term, round-the-clock closures will be in effect until April 7:

Turnaround closures at Kyle Seale Parkway, Chase Hill Blvd/Brennan Ave, and La Cantera Parkway/John Peace Blvd.
Partial closures on Loop 1604 eastbound frontage road from Kyle Seale Parkway to Babcock Road.
