SAN ANTONIO, TX (Jan. 28, 2025) – As part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced a nightly closure affecting NW Military Highway and the Loop 1604 turnarounds at that intersection.

Closure Details

📅 Date: Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 – Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025
Time: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
📍 Location:

  • NW Military Highway northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) lanes under the Loop 1604 bridge
  • Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) and westbound (WB) frontage road turnarounds at NW Military Highway

The overnight closure is necessary for a bridge deck pour, a critical step in the expansion project. Law enforcement officers will be on-site to assist with traffic flow as needed.

Detour Routes

🚧 NW Military Highway NB Detour:

  • Traffic will be rerouted onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road to the turnaround at Bitters Road, then back onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road to rejoin NW Military Highway NB.

🚧 NW Military Highway SB Detour:

  • Traffic will be rerouted onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road to the turnaround at Lockhill Selma Road, then back onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road to rejoin NW Military Highway SB.
