Sovia, a beloved mother, grandmother, and community leader, passed away at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unshakable spirit.
A Life Rooted in San Antonio
Born on December 8, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Sovia Lorena Lauriano grew up in a close-knit family where she learned the values of loyalty, determination, and service. A proud graduate of Harlandale High School’s Class of 1969, Sovia was known for her school spirit and leadership qualities. Her journey continued at San Antonio College, where she pursued her passion for education and community engagement.
As an administrative assistant for the City of San Antonio, Sovia dedicated her professional life to serving her hometown, earning a reputation for her professionalism, hard work, and compassion. Even after retirement, she remained deeply involved in volunteering for local nonprofits and community initiatives, cementing her legacy as a champion for her neighbors.

Sovia’s infectious enthusiasm for the San Antonio Spurs earned her the title of “Spurs Lady,” a role she cherished and proudly embodied. Honoring Sovia’s Life
Sovia is survived by her children, Elisa Martinez (Juan) and Carlos Lauriano (Teresa); her grandchildren, Isabella, Javier, and Sofia; her sister, Carmen Sanchez; her brother, Miguel Lauriano; and countless extended family members and friends. She is reunited in eternity with her parents, Francisco and Maria Lauriano, and her beloved husband, Manuel Lauriano, who passed away in 2015. Services to be soon announced by the family.
